What the hell?
I really disliked this project we did based off of LeWitt works. To me it makes no sense what so ever. It is a pointless piece in which takes no skill or no meaning. The only good thing that would come out of this piece is that it brings the people who worked on it, together. The unity in that is the only thing I can understand in which I don't even know if that is what the artist was trying to get across with doing this.
Oh my, what have we done?
Well first of all, when writing up this activity I didn't realize what kind of problem it was going to create, pretty much just because it is harmful. So in my activity of smoking cigarettes, I had to add to my sheet a caution label and a oath in which pointing out the risk and knowledge of the risk and that it is the persons own fault for taking part, which had to be signed by the person. Overall I think my activity went very well and to plan. Plus both of the people were smokers so they seemed to enjoy it. I also got some great action shots with Thiana nice camera. I also participated in a couple of other peoples activities like in Chul's where I had to speak german to Saraswati which was really hard because she was speaking spanish back to me. So I just said some pretty random stuff about the weather and such. Also I did Chris's activity with Jill on high fiving. And me and Chul caught each other as we fell backwards into each other arms.

Logos, logos everywhere, where they'll stop, NOONE knows

A logo is a symbol, or icon to represent something, usually something in the commercial world, that is trademark for that brand. I picked the Ford mustang logo because not only is it one of the greatest cars ever made but also because it is very known for what it stands for. It, like most logos, is very simple with just the outline of a horse running with three bars of red, white, and blue behind it showing America, and American made.
The Bride Stripped Bare by her Bachelors, Even

when I first looked at this piece, or two pieces, I was extremely confused, I knew there was also a story that goes along with it, but couldn't thinkm of anything possible to explain this, I thought it was just a meaningless abstract piece. After reading Duchamp writings I kind of started to put everything together and realized the complexity and thoughts that went into both the writing and the artwork. To which at some points I am still confused. I think it's great how they relate to each other, I just wished I could understand it better.
Pattern, the Islamic way
Pattern is the repeating of objects or colors or other types of form that project themselves over and over again. In the Islamic culture the bases of pattern is used for almost anything that is decorative to them. In pots, buildings, fabric. The use of both colors and forms are used to create these pieces. In buildings the use of pattern in the floor consists of mostly blues, golds, and whites floor tiles and other shades around those color. Also the same in the wall coverings. In the fabric it's patterns of those colors but mostly in the form of natural organic nature forms.

Let's tie up Chris
Well the string activity was so much fun, until it became time to roll it all back up. I started off with actually making a web with my string, but then grew into a huge mess with trying to tie up Chris, Jill, and Thiana. When this started to happen it went from a line exercise to a complete knot with Chris in the middle bound to his chair and Jill attached to him and Thiana just kind of chilling there. I got out easy, which was good I guess, because of the fire drill where Chris and Jill had to stay upstairs because they were still tied up. And against my beliefs we did finally roll all of the string back up.

Line or shape?

Critique 1

This is a picture as which from this pc looks like mostly like cut up black construction paper in shape of squares and rectangles, with 7 color pieces in the bottom right. The pieces are on a white background. The smaller black squares in the top portion are really the only pattern.
I am trying to find the meaning of this piece, but having extreme trouble doing so. Im looking at the color pieces at the bottom for the answers, but still can't think of anything. The only thing I can think of is a statement of segergation, but not sure.
My personal opinion of this piece is that it sucks. There is no meaning, or I'm just missing it. To create this piece requires no skill, and is very boring. I would not stop to view this piece if it was the last piece of art left in the world, and to be honest I have no idea why I even picked this piece to critique.
